Wet conditions were the setting of an eventful 90 minutes of football which saw Derbyshire Community Football Club and Fatball fighting until the very end.Despite a slow start from both sides, Community eventually found a breakthrough, Stephen King with space inside the area pulled the ball back for Oli Townsend, who's powerful effort went through the hands of the keeper.
Fatball did have a couple of chances of their own but a well organised Community defense saw the one goal advantage into half-time.
A few changes were made by Community at the break as manager Tom Kemp urged his side to be more clinical with their chances in front of goal but they started the second-half on the back foot with substitute goal-keeper, Adam Marsden forced into an array of saves early on.
There was almost an equaliser when a cross from beside the left-hand corner flag hit the outside of the post before going behind for a goal-kick.
Shortly after, Fatball must've felt that it wasnt going to be their day when a well struck free-kick bent around the wall, but Marsden again equal to it, turning the ball around the post.
With ten minutes left on the clock, Community managed to double their advantage, Sean Byrne-Dineen well timed pass released Stephen King who remained composed, rounding the goalkeeper to make it two.
Just eight minutes later, the two reversed roles for Community's third. King's ball over the top found Byrne-Dineen through on goal, who placed the ball with perfect precision into the bottom corner to put the result beyond doubt.
The total raised throughout all fundraising in June was a staggering £1,199.21 in support of Gracies Law.
Up next for Community is a trip to Ollerton Town to take on an Amey Lousie Shaw XI with all proceeds going to John Eastwood Hospice.
